Michel Broué is an Emeritus Exceptional Professor of Mathematics at the University Paris Cité. He has held prominent positions, including Director of the Institut Henri-Poincaré (1999- 2009) and Director of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the École normale supérieure (1986- 1993). He is a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, and a senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His research focuses on Algebra and Representation Theory, particularly of finite and algebraic groups. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Algebra (2001-2017) and remains active on various editorial boards.
